The Computer Network Professionals Association (CNPA) is a not-for-profit incorporated
Association committed to promoting the development of users of Novell NetWare and related products.
CNPA is affiliated to NetWare Users International (NUI) with chapters around the world,
and therefore provides access to the full range of NUI benefits. A working relationship with the member
groups in the Australasian Region offers us an avenue to share information and experiences at a local level.
Members meet once a month to discuss specific and general networking issues and to
receive presentations from a wide range of speakers on pertinent topics in a friendly and informal atmosphere.
Anyone involved in networks, at any level of expertise are welcome to attend. Existing members are
from diverse backgrounds and include end-users, vendors, CNAs, and CNEs. Prospective members are
welcome to attend any meeting.
Novell provides CNPA with copies of their monthly magazine "NetWare Connection".
This is a high quality magazine that is targeted at Novell Networking Professionals. It has extensive
in-depth articles, a wide range of information sources and regular news updates from Novell. Copies
are available at the monthly meetings and are free to CNPA members.
Members also benefit by having access to the group's library of reference books,
software and training videos, a home page on the WWW, membership discounts on NUI organised
conferences and Novell Press publications, group subscription to AppNotes, Novell Support Connection
CDs, NUGgets (a compilation of newsletters from other user groups) and Novell beta versions of
software. Perhaps the biggest benefit of all is the opportunity to meet others in the networking industry
to share ideas and successes.
Corporate Membership provides a discount to organisations wishing to have up to 3 members in the
group (extra Corporate Members can join at additional cost). Student Membership is available to full-time
students, but is subject to the approval of the Executive and regularly reviewed.
